Our love story began in May of 1958 with a blind date arranged by mutual friend/acquaintances.

I was a junior in High School & he was in his last year in the

U.S. Navy stationed 100 miles away.

Morning Rounds

My morning routine takes me, with cup in hand, to our deck with Nature Surround Sound. Soon I amble over to http://stringtownhome.com/ & snoop around. Heather may be having a party!
After approving or chiming in with comments, I make time for strolling Down the Lane and Around the Curve, at http://mershongeorgiagirl.blogspot.com/ . It's quiet there and I may run smack into inspiration.
Now it's home again http://mygrammashouse.blogspot.com/ to be sure everything is Like Gramma's House. This could turn into housekeeping, some redo, spruce up projects [blogging].
Enough with he creative challenges-real life inspiration awaits me a the Harrison House.

About Time and the days of our lives

Mail is sent and received instantly.

Work schedules are flexible.

Hardwood floors are EEZZ care.

Machines Wash & Dry Our Clothes.

Ditto the Dishes!

Ironing... What's that?

We often say, "Let's make time."

We can't make time of course,

But we do need to use it better.

We have longer 'talks'with Internet contacts..than family and friends.

We enjoy talking.. often saying little.

We hear ...not always listening or is it the other way around-we listen..without actually 'hearing'.

What a joy one whole day would be with dear ones in my life. We can't seem to make it happen.

These are 'The Days of Our Lives'...but for a short while.

*Like so many I do not buy dozens of magazines as "we" once did. The really good ones are so expensive. During the year I will pick up an issue of a really coveted periodical that I dearly love then in one of my 'spring cleaning' events I browse through the pages to decide if there's content I really want to hold onto. The stack of great magazines gets whittled down to a "precious few' that become "resource" materials.

Thank you for visiting Like Gramma's House. Porch scenes & other photos are mine. It is our home. I often stage it for you-Grab a chair. Let's visit. My bio in a nutshell: Born a twin in rural south Georgia, Cinderella high school years, married my Prince Charming [God's design] & Mother of three sons & one daughter who honor us by the lives they & their spouses live. We have 8 Grands ages 12-27 and expect to be Great Grand Parents in 2013. As the years pass we are reminded that His mercy Endures forever-Life is Good! We thank God for Life, Breath & Salvation.

Drying flowers is a way of enjoying them longer..the dry form is another kind of beauty.
I always have something "rooting" or "drying" on my kitchen window sill or in little containers on the side of the kitchen window..
I fill a little teapot with fresh MINT from outside the kitchen door.. when it roots I PLANT IT AGAIN.
The rose petals fall off -I leave them on the counter to dry then drop them into a teacup. When I want some "scent" I add a few leaves stripped from eucalyptus branches [or lavender, mint or rosemary-whatever :D it's all beautiful "Naturally"- Nothing more needed :^)
